Life Cycle
Life Cycle Events
Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies take place during Shabbat morning services, as
Temple Solel officially welcomes our children to adulthood in the Jewish community
by calling them to Torah. Temple Solel B'nai Mitzvah lead much of the Shabbat
morning service, read Torah and Haftarah, and offer a D'var Torah to the congregation.
Life Cycle celebrations and ceremonies are occasions to be together, whether in joy or sorrow. From birth to death, our life experiences are enriched as we gather together in our community.
We are delighted to name our babies and children on the bimah in our beautiful sanctuary, to consecrate our little ones when they begin kindergarten in our religious school, to welcome them as adults into our Jewish community as b'nai or b'not mitzvah as they reach age 13, and to celebrate our tenth graders' confirmation during Shavuot.
We then cry with joy at their weddings in our sanctuary.
And because death is an inevitable part of the life cycle, we have a Temple Solel section at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale. Temple Solel members can conduct their loved one's shiva minyan, led by Rabbi Linder, in their own homes. Be sure to notify the Temple office (480.991.7414) as appropriate and tell us when your family will receive visitors. From that point we will answer your questions and offer help as needed.
