Committees
TEMPLE SOLEL COMMITTEES AND AUXILIARIES
____________________________
Membership Committee:
The Membership Committee assists the synagogue with the recruitment, assimilation,
and retention of all members.
Membership Subcommittees
Ambassadors - Our Ambassadors organize greeters and serve as greeters
for all services and special events. A greeter wishes congregants and visitors
a cheerful "Shabbat Shalom," hands out prayer books, and sometimes...just
schmoozes!
Solel Mates - This subcommittee helps new members make connections with
other congregants. New members are matched with other congregants, who help
mentor the family into our sacred community.
Chavurot - The Chavurah subcommittee facilitates the gathering of congregants
into social groups called chavurot. Each chavurah is responsible for its own
social agenda. A chavurah may consist of families, individuals, people with
special interests, and so forth.
Other Membership Committee Activities
Recruitment - Organize special events for prospective members.
Special Shabbats - Organize special Shabbats to honor - among others
- new members, veterans, and volunteers.
Outreach - Participate in community events to inform others about Temple
Solel.
Time Commitment
We hold meetings about every two months. Also, we ask that you consider participating
in or leading a subcommittee; be a chair/co-chair for a committee activity;
or assist with an activity.
