I grew up in Skokie, Illinois, and received my religious education at Temple Beth
Israel in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood before the congregation later
relocated to Skokie. Under the guidance of Rabbis Ernst Lorge and Michael
Weinberg, I developed a strong foundation in Jewish learning and community. I
graduated from Niles North High School and went on to attend Indiana
University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a minor in
Psychology in 1988.
My professional career began with Walgreens, where I served as an Assistant
Store Manager and became an award-winning merchandiser, earning a
promotion to Executive Assistant Manager. In May 2004, I relocated to
Scottsdale, Arizona, and continued my career with Walgreens across the
Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and Phoenix areas. In 2020, I transitioned to Amazon
Pharmacy, working remotely until recently retiring from corporate life to focus on
my business, Hear 2 Hear U. I am passionate about self-advocacy and hearing
health awareness and recently self-published my book, My Voice Beyond
Hearing Loss: How I Discovered Confidence, Freedom, and Inner Peace.
After moving to Scottsdale, I continued my Jewish journey at Temple Solel,
initially attending High Holiday services and events with my parents, Marvin and
Florence Covinsky. I officially became a member in July 2022 and quickly became involved with Rosh Chodesh/Women of Solel, adult education classes
with Rabbi Linder and Rabbi Stiel, and upcoming learning opportunities with
Rabbi Crystal. I also serve on the planning committee for Solelebration 2026. As
a Temple Solel Board of Trustee member, my goal is to help preserve the
welcoming atmosphere felt the moment one walks through the doors while
supporting meaningful programming and traditions that strengthen our
community and uphold our Jewish values.
