Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism in Houston, Temple Mount Sinai in El Paso and Temple Solel in Paradise Valley, Arizona are excited to be partnering on a program with Cantor Robyn Helzner on Sunday, August 9 at 2pm Arizona.
Cantor Helzner will present, “Kreplach & Dim Sum: Yes, There are Jews in China” on Zoom!
In this lively presentation, Robyn shares stories, photos, videos and music to explore the extraordinary history of the Jewish communities in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Kaifeng, and traces their emergence as the fastest growing Jewish region in the world, today.
Robyn served as the Cantor for the United Jewish Congregation of Hong Kong and officiated at the first Bar Mitzvah celebrated in Beijing. She also leads Jewish Heritage Tours to China.
She currently serves as the Cantorial Soloist at Temple Sinai and at the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue, both in Washington DC.
