Tikkun Middot practice is an ancient form of Jewish spirituality which
focuses on the development of soul traits (middot) to attain personal and
communal holiness. Examples of some middot include: patience, humility, order,
trust in God, and joy.
In this four-part series, Rabbi Stiel will delve into some of the history and
foundational principles behind this practice. She will also share some key
mindfulness strategies and middot modalities that can help us in this important
work.
Over these four sessions, our group will study several important Jewish
middot together (learning how they are understood within Jewish tradition) and
work on fine-tuning these middot in us, as we deem appropriate. Through this
middot work, we will learn about and cultivate some of the Jewish qualities we
want to grow within ourselves.
