Temple Solel invites you to attend an Evening Celebrating 50 Years of Women in the Rabbinate and the Installation of Rabbi Debbie Stiel Sisters of Solel and women of all ages in our congregation will participate in this creative service. Join us as we mark 50 years of women in the rabbinate and formally install and welcome Rabbi Stiel. For many Jews, the High Holiday season begins with Rosh HaShanah and the start of the new month of Tishrei. Jewish tradition, however, teaches that the preceding month of Elul is a time of soul-searching and reflection to prepare oneself for the magnitude of the Days of Awe. It is during this time that we observe Selichot (also spelled s'lichot).

Sukkot is one of the most joyful festivals on the Jewish calendar. “Sukkot,” a Hebrew word meaning "booths" or "huts," refers to the Jewish festival of giving thanks for the fall harvest. The holiday has also come to commemorate the 40 years of Jewish wandering in the desert after the giving of the Torah atop Mt. Sinai.
